I chose this link (unfortunately in french) because it shows the dilemna of France regarding international problems. You can find a letter written by a former minister, Mr Léotard, being very opionated against iranian president Ahmadinejad's politics. What is interesting is to see that the french jewish community totally agreed with Mr Léotard's point of view.
This is in my opinion a good example of France's schizophrenia : on the one hand protecting our jewish "friends" in Middle East, on the other hand, being tolerant (weak ?) with muslims.
Some may find this kind of political topic boring, even a bit repetitive, but the "general forum" of Drakkar allows us to talk about topics very far away from stereotypical BM patterns.

don't mix up foreign and domestic policy ... the issues aren't the same at all

Unfortunately foreign issues do have consequences on domestic policy : french muslims are focused on France's international and diplomatic reactions. Thus, plus the fact that the jewish lobby is still important in France explain the schizophrenic attitude of the country regarding the Middle East.

France is ruled by hypocrisy; multi-culturalism is a danger for anyone's identity and culture, as well as ideological and cultural conformism.
