PostSubject: Dark Ambient   Mon 15 Dec - 9:56

Does anyone appreciate dark ambient as much as I do?

I very much appreciate the music offered on Cold Meat Industry.

Perhaps some of you could introduce me to new things?

I like Zoviet France, but it's not "dark" ambient.

What does "dark ambiant" mean? Synth project of BM musicians?

A valid question.

I suppose it's called "Dark Ambient," because the artist generally tries to create a dark, somber, and relatively ghostly atmosphere in the music.

Indeed, and those many ways are placed into ambient music, thus creating "dark ambient."

Damn, their newest output sucks. It is no real ambient music, more a radio drama. In my eyes are the 18.- they charge for that 2 CD Digi way too much.

The last Dark Ambient band I discovered was Grabesmond. Their second album was really brilliant.

Yeah, that´s the same VSTi TAOP use on Urfe.

Fuck, that´s ridiculous. Seems that DJ Gamma G is copying everything he hears. It´s a shame.

My favorite dark ambient band is Aghast. I think, you know this project. It's interesting: russian label Eternal Pride has officially re-released their only album in digi-cd format. I've already ordered a copy for my own

I saw Svartsinn last year, left a very good impression... I didn't enjoy that much the other projects which were performing that night; Northaunt and Visions.

If I may advertise a tape from a band/projekt SEKT, Swedish dark ambient for fanatics of old Raison d'etre and Lustmord:

Quote :
This piece of spiritual aggression should be seen upon as a glorification to the dark side of the human spirit - the dark night of the soul. Some of you might remember we announced the release of a certain Swedish dark ambient projekt ten or so years ago. Unfortunately this was never realized, contact was lost and the persons seemed to have dissapeared from the earth. Until suddenly the members surfaced again and continued the projekt in a new identity. SEKT is a musical experimentation performing uncomfortable and disturbing dark ambient based on humanity's physical and psychological decay, and direct all concentration to attempt to recreate the sound image of the clash of total collapse. SEKT is the auditory face of religious, cultural and political collisions. The psychological tumor that eats all form of logical and moral reflection. The technological developments that contribute to increasingly powerful weapons and the war that these weapons are and will be used in. The drug cartels that impose authoritarian world corruption. SEKT is simply a tribute to man's self-destructive nature. The stillborn pursuit of the selfish perfectionism where only ash, apathy and charred bodies remain.

Some samples are on Youtube...

Relatively amazed that this thread remains.

Been listening to Peter Anderson's new "Sculpturing Time Fragments." Good stuff. Prefer the Raison D'être project more, but it's still a good listen.

Currently working on some new dark ambient for the new Sacerdos album. I'm excited to release it.

Some of you may want to check the Russian band KARNA. Horrific ambient, in the spirit of MEGAPTERA, but different musically.
