BTW, can ayone provide me with a decent dub of RATOR's 1987 demo? I'm very curious about this one, and knowing that the band has an album in works is fucking great news!

Anyone into old Malay legends like LANGSUYR, SIL-KHANNAZ, SILENT DEATH or AS SAHAR here?

As Sahar? Finally you said a band that I know. Yeah, I heard 3 Songs on their myspace, which I found quite good. They exist since 1989 or 1988, don't they? Very old and obscure Black Metal.
Unfortunately It is hard since impossible to find those bands in the deep east...

Malaysia

nebiula at mailexcite.com

if you don't find their releases in distros or so.

Thanks for the new interesting names Mr Malder! I have a few ones to check, and I guess that will interesting.

BTW, anyone into real melodic Death-Metal must check THE CHASM. If you know ARGHOSLENT, and there are big chances you know them if you are here, then THE CHASM is a good band to check for you.

And how's the new AVZHIA? I liked their first album and the tracks on the split with XIBALBA were awesome (both bands were awesome in fact).

And where to begin with TRANSMETAL? I only own their "Desear un Funeral" MLP that's good, but I heard their later stuff kills too.

Hail!

AVZHIA follow the same path, great Black Metal. The new albums of TRANSMETAL are killers too, and they have like 30 records.

Others names:

+ Necroccultus (Obscure Death Metal, mmmm like Throneum)
+ Lords of Darkness (Black Metal like Marduk)
+ Lacrimae (Avantgarde Black Metal, this band sounds great very original)
+ Kavra (Doom Sludge Metal, they have only one demo and you can download from his website, check that, but they sound better live)
+ Black Empire (Excellent Black Thrash Metal, like Desaster)
+ EK (Melodic Death Metal with Mayan lyrics)
+ Warchrusher (War Metal)

I can obtain all this material but only cds (and the fuckin' CD-R format, because many bands record in this fuckin' format, and some CD-Rs are simple mp3 burned on a simple CD-R with photocopy cover), sorry; because here in Mexico that albums are vey cheap, only 5-10euros for each one, i don't want to do bussiness is only for help to obtain this, only Transmetal have like 30 albums. Regards

Malder

As Sahar is music, but the ideology behind their metal/lyrics is NOT BM, Islam-orientated!

Itnos from Singapore is worth a spin too on the turntable..

I recommend you to get some issues of Desecration Of Virgin Zine, which is packed with "exotic" bands from around the globe..

AS SAHAR weren't an islamic band back in the day. They were into occultism. Well, i didn't even check their releases post-1996 or so. The interview in Steel Madness zine helped me to avoid them.

But I agree that ITNOS is a good band, and their EP isn't that hard to find I guess.

Well, Desecration of the Virgin is a zine done with lots of honesty and dedication, but still keeps being amateurish and not in-depth when it comes to the content, so I don't recommend it, except for getting contacts. I recommend people to check Eternal Fire zine instead, a zine with more in-depth content IMO.

Anyone who knows MAGNUS from Poland? Fantastic Death/Thrash Metal a bit in the vein of Sarcofago and Massacra...

MySpace for check-out:
http://www.myspace.com/magnus1989

I only know this 4 songs from MySpace, which are great for me...buzzsaw guitar, fat drums, and a shouting bastard on the mic. A MUST!
But records sell for a expensive price...100 you must expect.

Edit: There is a CD-Rerelease by an American Label (Reaper Metal Records I think) on 2006, the "Scarlet Slaughterer" Best-Of from 1993 plus Bonus. I'm not much into Rereleases and CD's but this is a sure thing for me to have!!

There's something that amazes me: on the metal-archives page of MAGNUS, "antifascism" is quoted as a lyrical theme of the band, though one of their songs is entitled "Hackenkreuz" (wrong spelling by the way).

And isn't it Bandit (MAGNUS's singer) who wrote the lyrics of "Broken Cross" from the famous NSBM Polish band VELES?

Hackenkreuz could be a NS parody or criticism, maybe...do you got the lyrics? Or it's just kidding, like Sepultura wearing swastika-shirts on early days.

I don't know of relation between Veles and Magnus...!

EXTERMINATOR maybe? Or HOLOCAUSTO, though the latter denied any nazi links soon after the shock caused by their first LP and their early look.

Hm, I saw pictures on Nuclear War Now! Prod., and it seems to be a plain Swastika Shirt, no Band's merchandise here....like Johnny Rotten of Sex Pistols weared (see in the Film the great Rock n Roll swindle for example...)

That's true!! HOLOCAUSTO on their first stuff was a pro-nazi band, but in the "Hollywood" way. Making apologize and supporting the "Holocaust" not in a really serious way.

Well, I just wrote here the address I've found on the CD. I got my copy on a trade with a Malaysian trader who advised me to get this one. I think this CD is most probably sold-out, except maybe by crossing small distros or so. Maybe there will be a repress if the demand is here, but I don't think their label care that much of selling their CDs outside their own country or at least South-East Asia.

Goatpenis, too, it seems. Look at their Swastika Ribbons in early promo pictures or limitations of 88.

For the BLACK FIRE album, I think it was banned in Malaysia and the production is stopped or a part of it is destroyed, is that right? Anyway, I saw it on ebay several times for 20$ or so. You can ask Malayan Distros of course, check Afterlife Productions for example, I'm looking forward to trade a CD for this album with Wan Syamsul (his Fanzine Dead Head is also a great thing with some obscure bands, Blackfire as well).

flirting with a "nazi image" has a certain tradition in south american extreme metal, much earlier and much more than in european countries, i really don't know why... another example was SS from Venezuela, the most important thrash band in this country...but of course they all weren't "real nazis".

other long running band are NUCTEMERON and NEBIRAS... unfortunately I haven't heard the last one yet.
What about AS SAHAR, what is their best release? what kind of ideology are they following?

Yet XIBALBA is one of the best bands that ever spawned in Mexico. They draw a lot of influences from DARKTHRONE but in the good way, and I find their music to be horrific.
Of course this video isn't the best -but most BM video-clips are either live footage or crap-. And, in a sense, this one keeps the horrific feeling of their music, with the first person shooting and the rolling speed of images. Filming within daytime is original at least, and fits the video too. So not the best but far being the worst too. It's still better than pixelised WWII footage and gothic scenes too...
