I have a question. In 1994, LLN wrote that they were pissed of the scene and trend attitude and so... Against which bands those sentences were written?!!!! Because 1994' is for sure not like in 1998' or 2008'... In 1994 the scene was more UG than ever!

1994 was like today. We had trendies bands and labels like Nachtmystium and Degaymur morti. That's against this that the Black legions were in war.

Well, this topic is really instructive, I didn't know that Osculum Infame was a trendy band, neither about the "war" between AMSG and Drakkar...

I guess it was just a matter of competition between labels. This kind of conflict is current in the BM scene, it's a way of promotion. The same phenomenon exists in the hip hop scene.

ah ah, the situation was really different 10-13 years ago, the term "competition" is new school, if you think BM with competition, then you're a hip hop asshole.
Interesting topic ?? People who were there knew these kinds of stories or "wars", I don't see the real interest for nowadays people to know these stories, maybe to get a part of what once was, and now is only dust ? Always the same with the Black Legions... Get a part of what happened once... Better look at the interesting scene now than melting the shit of yesterday.
Next topic : why Putrefaction Recs said "you're late, you're an asshole" to Melek-Tha in 1991 because they missed a concert in Belgium ?

I don't "think BM with competition", I just describe what I witness.
Competition is everywhere in nowadays' society. But it can be a sane value in some cases.

I find it hard to believe that back in 1994 the scene was THAT bad. But then again in 'Dawn Of The Black Hearts' booklet Euronymous wrote that Dead killed himself because the scene was changing and there were too many posers. Black metal wasn't real anymore, blah, blah. This was in 1991. Imagine that. The garbage and commercialization that was to follow in the black metal scene post 1991 and 1994. This was pre-internet too. Oh, if Dead were to see what the scene is like in 2008.

This was marketing, nothing more.

Dead was depressed. The "scene is dead" thing was marketing, or propaganda. Or both. That's no recent news.
