Peste Noire's new release "Lorraine Rehearsal"

Peste Noire have released since a few days, an LP "Lorraine Rehearsal" with both new material and re-recorded songs from the demo "Phalènes et Pestilence". I've just ordered this LP from Northern Heritage and wanted to know if someone have already listened to it.

Well, seriously, do rehearsal tracks need a vinyl support? Why not doing a proper release of their album? Or of a new album?

Nowadays, every release by a band is a pretext to release a vinyl, when a tape -or a cheap CD- will suffice. That's a waste of plastic. Really.

bah, for sure it was useless to press that on vinyl (the same could be said about soooo many records) - but it could be interesting
at least more interesting than the (lack of) production on the album
it seems that people got shit in their ears, anyway

@ Noktu: You forgot the Seine Saint-Denis special rehearsal. Done in a cave in Saint-Ouen. Unique and rare rehearsal. Not for feeble ears.

Gave this a listen yesterday.

Side B, the old demo redone, I was very impressed with, It was re-recorded very well, and in comparison to the original demo, was a very good piece of work.

The new tracks to me, though only listening to them once, as I was borrowing a vinyl player, were to me, a bit poor.
Compared to a normal black metal album, these songs were very impressive pieces of work. But ompared to Peste noires debut album, and demos such as "macabre transcendance", I found them to be off that mark of brilliant, and just good.
The songs were too fast, and didnt have so much of the substance of the older work, but, they did exactly what they said they would. As the vinyl says, the tracks are raw black metal... and that they are.

Though this is first impression. I would like to put this LP onto my computer, and give it a real listen, but alas, I cannot do that. And it is not on soulseek yet.
But i will find it when i can, and give it another, real listen.

The new "FolkFuck Folie" is on De Profundis. By the way, I was very disapointed with the rehearshal LP. Only 24: 54 minutes are listenable. I'm happy, I didn't bought it.

As I said before, and as I said it before Famine at the show, a rehearsal is meant to be sold on tape, not on vinyl. I didn't buy it at the show, even for future trade or money-making purposes...

by the way, anyone here heard the 2nd PN album ? my opinion: some good parts and great lyrics, but poorly inspired as a whole --- listening to the CD was almost boring (!)

I only had time to listen to the first song 2 times.

Is this supposed to be a kind of intro?
