Was interesting to read a topic about russian bands and so I decided to create this topic. What can participants of this board say about my country;)? Still everyone believes that bears walk the streets and we drink vodka always?)) Also I would like to continue here partly topic "russian bands". Just curious about local opinions.

I am personally very much into the early releases of MASTER, ARIJA, KOROZZIA METALLA... I discovered KRUIZ recently, very good band.
As for more recent bands, I like DRAUGWATH (more than BLACKDEATH) and a bit of OLD WAINDS, but I must admit the Russian scene is far from being among my faves...
The most promising band is NORTHDARK, have you heard about it??? Hehehe...

Russia has plenty of original sounding metal bands from 80ies, early 90ies.

Konsul are fantastic, Legion demos, Oblachyj Kraj, Kruiz, old Korrozia Metalla, Holostoi Vystrel album was pretty cool, DIV EP and debut is great, Aria, Master...

Anyone heard the Mortem album (I guess it's named "Amputation") from early 90ies out on MetalAgen?

Oh and from Belyarus, Gods Tower are great! But I'm not sure if it belongs to Russia

I'm more keen on a few Blazebirth Hall bands like Branikald, Forest or Temnozor, that might be a generation thing I don't know.
I think Where the snows are never gone by Old Wainds was a really good album.
As for promising acts, PSEUDOGOD's demo is quite interesting.

Oh, well, I haven't time to write a long post...

Well, my advice would be the dark-folk band NEUTRAL that offers great songs full of fine arrangements, dreamy voice and lots of this Russian melancholy.

Oh, well, we're speaking about Metal here, sorry ! ^^

Belarus is an independant republic since 1990.

No, it is offical fact for to hide their "changing of views". Absolutely nothing common with NS was in lyrics of them till 1998. And also in lyrics of Rundagor were a Satanic aspects - look on metal-archives.com

Are you sure I would support a religious band? Do you think I support bands without getting informations on the concept and ideology?
For example, in Russia PSEUDOGOD is religious. NORTHDARK is not. But of course, the best would be to hear the opinion/answer on this subject by D_Se himself...

Pseudogod is also musically boring, but in the other way.

I wouldn't say that without being sure. I've met and talked S.N. himself face to face, last time december 07, he was 'religious' then. Maybe he changed his conception now, this happens... And he played in "Beyond ye Grave" which is religious band.

Anyways, seeing his face makes me want nothing to do with russian BM 'scene'. As well as seeing many other BM 'activists' from some of our cities. They always know the right words to say when you're writing to them over the net, but in reality it's always the same. No fire reflects through their eyes, if you know what I'm trying to say.

Heh.Догадался, что я знаю его - не трудно. His is not a part of current religious B.M. bands, he has a serious ideology, but he doesn't like to show it in NORTHDARK lyrics, his lyrics are mostly inspired by his daily hatred, events and etc. But as you told TANINIVER is extremly good, I think better than his major project. His side-project is a thing for to write about direct ideology, as he told me.

I give 100% - watch his myspace and look his contact e-mail and ask him any question about ideology and I am sure he will answer it.

Yes! But also I wanted to dedicate a topic to opinions about russian mentality.... what locals think about? Besides Metal music.

The Russian people I've met here were nationalists, smart people, and usually with lots of culture. Well, I didn't met the mafia, nor the prostitutes in Nizza. ^^
About Russia, I don't want to write a long post, but I'd prefer to see Europe quit NATO for a EU Defense Union allied with Russia than supporting US bullshit anymore. I have nothing against US people, but the US government clearly works against Europe.

There are a VERY lot of racists - and I am among of theme. Here are fucking black assed from Кавказ.... But there are many NON-NS, of course... culture is destroyed. But who cares??? Only NSBMs hehehehe....
